“The French going to one of the vaccination centers against influenza A will be greeted by two members of the vaccination team and will first have to complete an” individual medical form “, explained Sophie Delaporte, deputy director general of health, and they will fill it out and respond in writing to questions about possible contraindications to vaccination.
Patients will then discuss with a doctor who will decide whether or not to prescribe the vaccination. Then the syringe will be prepared, the vaccine injected, and the patient will be discharged, receiving a traceability voucher and a vaccination certificate. The whole thing should not take more than 15 minutes.
The traceability voucher will be used during the second visit to the vaccination center, to receive the second dose of the vaccine, three weeks later. The vaccination certificate will then be completed, and must be kept by the patient.
The vaccination teams are made up of health professionals: doctors, nurses, as well as health personnel placed under their responsibility: medical students, third year nursing students. Health professionals retired for less than five years may also be part of the vaccination team.
Note that it takes three weeks between vaccination against seasonal influenza and that against influenza A.
