We owe this discovery to researchers at Ben-Gurion University (Israel) who used the brown algae found on the rocks to develop this famous gel.
It would create a protective structure between the cells and fibers of the heart. In addition, the gel would have the ability to strengthen heart tissue weakened following a heart attack, as well as accelerate muscle repair.
For the moment this gel is still at the stage of the last human clinical tests and it could be made available for sale to patients from 2011.
