Grant Theft Auto V (GTA) continues to be popular. Even though the game has been out for a while, the sales simply remain good. The publisher Take-Two has Numbers published showing this. GTA V has sold 150 million games. A huge number.
Sell GTA V
Of those 150 million, 10 million have been sold this year. The entire GTA franchise has now reached the milestone of 350 million games sold. In 2020, 20 million games of GTA were sold. Presumably this number will also be reached this year and perhaps sales will exceed this. This is because GTA will also come to next-gen consoles in September. Together with this new version for the Xbox Series X and S and PlayStation 5, a GTA Online will also be available.
GTA next gen
Not much is known about this. They keep this a good secret until now. Except that this version will probably be available at the end of this year. Rockstar, the game’s creator, says some cars can get a higher top speed in the online version, for example. This would be made possible because the game world you are in as a player can be loaded faster.
Take-Two has also shared information about the other popular franchises. Red Dead Redemption 2 has sold 38 million games. The Borderlands series has sold a total of 71 million games. These are also not small numbers and contribute to the turnover.
All of these sales account for nearly $840 million in revenue, up 10% from a year earlier. When GTA comes for the next-gen consoles, this will probably only become more.
