What the gym (or just a brisk walk) does for physical fitness, puzzles do for maintaining your mental muscles. In addition, if they don’t have too many bells and whistles that only distract you from your task, then they are absolutely perfect. Kakurasu is such a puzzle. The assignment is simple: select all cells whose values add up to the requested numbers that you see to the right of and below the square. Each box is numbered from left to right and from top to bottom. Especially the larger squares are challenging.
