In its calendar, the Federation of the Blind and Handicapped of France diverts the image of celebrities, blind for the time of a photo. To emphasize the precariousness of the visually impaired.
A president, a business leader or a blind journalist: unprecedented, but not improbable for the Federation of the Blind and Handicapped of France (FAF). The association published this January 19 a shock calendar which evokes the employment of the blind.
“Change your point of view: hire a blind man!” This slogan illustrates the fourth calendar of the FAF. Several personalities have lent themselves to the game: François Hollande, Xavier Niel, Jean-Jacques Bourdin or Franck Ribéry have agreed to be adorned with dark glasses. “Once again, and always for a good cause, we have hijacked the image of certain political figures or celebrities”, declares the president of the FAF, Vincent Michel. “The evils that plague the“ people of the night ”make their living conditions more and more unacceptable: unemployment, difficult schooling, transport, roads, and more generally life in the city difficult to access, even inaccessible. “
One in two blind people is unemployed according to the FAF. This awareness campaign focuses on an “increasingly unacceptable” precarious situation. It will also be relayed by a site dedicated to the employment of blind people: www.embauchezunaveugle.fr. In addition to this website, the association is also launching a hotline for any visually impaired person.
