FIFA 22 and Battlefield 2042 appear to be available indirectly on Xbox Game Pass through EA Play. Does this mean the game’s arrival on the service?
It’s no secret that the Xbox Game Pass is an incredibly solid subscription, and for FIFA fans there may be another reason. It looks like FIFA 22 and Battlefield 2042 are coming to Xbox Game Pass. That is to say, if you already purchase a subscription from Microsoft, it will be a lot cheaper to also play FIFA and/or Battlefield 2042.
FIFA and BF2042 on Game Pass?
So it looks like the two games published by EA are coming to Xbox Game Pass, so notes the Polish website XGP on. The official Microsoft Store pages for FIFA 22 and Battlefield 2042 state that the games are included in EA Play.
Some context: EA Play is EA’s “streaming service” that was later included in the Xbox Game Pass. Anyone with a subscription to Microsoft’s game service can play the EA Play games and receive additional bonuses such as 10 hours of free demos for games that are not unlimited to play.
FIFA 22 and Battlefield 2042 currently fall under the above category; 10 hour demos. But according to the Microsoft pages, the games are included in EA Play, which makes them unrestricted.
So everything indicates that the flopped Battlefield and the most recent FIFA 22 will soon be completely ‘free’ accessible to anyone with Xbox Game Pass. Until then, it will remain a demo, but perhaps when the games are released on the service you can move on immediately! However, no release date or official information has been announced yet. So a small grain of salt!
