The start-up Remedee Labs has announced positive results regarding the effectiveness of an endorphin stimulator bracelet combined with personalized coaching to reduce the symptoms of fibromyalgia.
- Fibromyalgia is a chronic pathology, which results in persistent diffuse pain and sensitivity to pressure.
- A French start-up has developed an endorphin stimulator bracelet based on millimeter waves, which helps reduce pain, stress and sleep disorders associated with fibromyalgia.
- Volunteers with fibromyalgia saw a significant improvement in their quality of life after wearing the endorphin stimulator bracelet.
This is a major breakthrough for people with fibromyalgia: non-drug therapy has made it possible to improve patients’ quality of life and reduce symptoms linked to the pathology. The Remedee Labs solutiondeveloped by a French start-up of the same name, is based on an endorphin-stimulating bracelet based on millimeter waves combined with personalized coaching.
Innovative technology reducing pain and stress linked to fibromyalgia
Nearly 1.5 to 2% of the French population suffer from fibromyalgia, according to Health Insurance. This chronic pathology is manifested by persistent diffuse pain and sensitivity to pressure, which can be accompanied by significant fatigue as well as sleep disorders. Currently, there is no treatment to cure fibromyalgia, but therapies may be indicated to alleviate the symptoms.
As part of the development of the Remedee Labs solution, researchers recruited 170 participants suffering from fibromyalgia in eight French establishments specializing in this disease. This technology uses “millimeter waves to stimulate subcutaneous nerve receptors in the wrist, sending a message to the brain, which in turn releases endorphins. These endorphins induce a hypoalgesic effect and activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which reduces pain, stress and improves sleep”, they explained in a press release.
Endorphin stimulator bracelet: benefits for more than half of patients
The volunteers noticed a significant improvement in their quality of life after wearing the bracelet associated with personalized coaching, which includes a mobile application allowing them to follow treatment sessions, and personalized support. According to the results, 55.1% of participants reduced their Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire (FIQ) score, the benchmark test measuring the impact of fibromyalgia on patients’ daily lives. “This figure reaches 62.3% if we consider the people who respected the correct use of the solution in the clinical protocol (per-protocol results). More than half of the patients (53%) went from one intensity of the “severe to moderate fibromyalgia. This improvement is maintained at six months.” can we read in the document.
Following these initial positive results, the start-up Remedee Labs wishes to continue the certification procedures, in order to obtain medical device status in 2024.
