The St. Baldrick Foundation is an organization specializing in research into childhood cancer. It sets up events aimed at raising public awareness and has created a competition, during which volunteers come to shave their heads. More than 40,000 heads have already paid the price. One of the events took place on Father’s Day and Josh Marshall was the winner of the contest.
A tattoo as a support
Josh Marshall’s son suffered a brain tumor. He is therefore undergoing treatment which required him to shave his head and underwent an operation which left him with a scar. To support his son in this hard ordeal, Josh Marshall also created a scar by getting a tattoo. The design takes the form of a horseshoe above his right ear.
According to ABCJosh spoke to his son Gabriel and told him that “si people wanna watch you, then they can watch both of us “. So he had his head shaved at an event launched by the St. Baldrick Foundation, an organization that funds research aimed at curing childhood cancers.
The best bald daddy
The St. Baldrick Foundation educates populations through “shaved head” events. Josh Marshall entered the “#BestBaldDad” competition and won first place with 5,000 votes.
Josh told the BuzzFeed site that since having this scar, Gabriel feels like a “monster.” So he posts the photo and writes: ” Me and my son at this year’s St. Baldrick event in Wichita, Kansas. I got my son’s scar tattoo to help him with self-confidence “. The photo has been liked over 146,000 times on Instagram and has been shared over 5,000 times on Facebook.
