A new scientific study has investigated the harms of energy drinks. Canadian researchers have just illustrated the danger of these substances by revealing that more than half of the young people who consume them feel the harmful effects on their health.
Heart palpitations, nausea, or even seizures
Many young people who consume energy drinks feel the negative effects of the ingredients they contain. This is the observation made by researchers at the University of Waterloo, Canada, in a recent study published in the journal of the Canadian Medical Association, CMAJ Open.
The authors of this study indeed affirm that no less than 55.4% of young people, amateurs of these drinks, would feel harmful effects on their organism.. Taurine, caffeine or any other substance in all these drinks are responsible for these effects., which can result in various symptoms.
Energy drinks are particularly not recommended for children and pregnant women
In details, young people who were interviewed during this study noticed having experienced tremors, nausea, heart palpitations, and even seizures for some people. While many of them did not react to these manifestations, more than 3% of them declared having gone to see a doctor following an abnormal reaction of their organism.
Energy drinks are regularly the subject of scientific studies which are unanimous in advising against their consumption, especially when they are mixed with alcohol. They are also particularly harmful to children and pregnant women..
