Surely you remember the Dentexia case. In March 2016, the Regional Health Agencies (ARS) ordered the closure of several dental centers “low-cost” Dentexia, in Châlon-sur-Saône, Marseille, Paris and Lyon. The reason: insufficient “hygiene and disinfection measures” and a “failure to dispose of healthcare waste”.
At the same time, an association of patients who felt they had been cheated and/or badly cared for had been created. This “Collective against Dentexia” today brings together 2,200 “victims” who range “from mutilation to simple commercial litigation” according to the spokesperson for the collective.
Good news: while in April 2016, the Ministry of Health had stated that there would be no support for the victims, this Wednesday, July 27, 2016, Marisol Touraine announced the release of financial aid for former poorly cared for patients.
A toll-free number for Dentexia victims
“Financial assistance will be paid to patients who, because of the importance of the care to be provided and their resources, have difficulty in meeting the costs,” said the Minister of Health in a press release. The device, “operational before the start of the school year”, will be financed by an “exceptional mobilization of the social action fund of theHealth Insurance “.
In addition, Marisol Touraine also asked the regional health agencies (ARS) that the reception arrangements for the patients concerned be adapted “to allow a resumption of care as quickly as possible”.
Of course, for its part, the Collective against Dentexia approves of this decision: “we can only be pleased that there has been an institutional response allowing the resumption of care for former Dentexia patients” reacted Abdel Aouacheria, door -word.
As a reminder, in May 2016, the Ministry of Health set up a toll-free number for victims of Dentexia. 0 800 100 378 is accessible from Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
