To encourage young people to drink more water and avoid the risk of dehydration, the company Bowhead Technology has developed a connected water bottle, the Gululu Interactive water bottle. Gululu looks like a virtual animal. With a colorful look, with funny shapes, he lives in a marine universe. Its mission: to help the smallest members of your family (and why not you too) to drink enough water.
Equipped with a screen, a pair of touch sensors, Wi-Fi, and wireless, Gululu is a connected water bottle that alerts the user that it is time to drink. The more the child hydrates properly, the more he brings his virtual animal to life. The water bottle is connected to the parents’ smartphones who check the water consumption of their offspring.
Identify dehydration in children
It is necessary to drink between 1 and 1.5 liters of water per day, especially during periods of extreme heat, according to the Primary Health Insurance Fund.
Dehydration manifests itself with several symptoms: thirst, dry lips, incipient weight loss (less than 5% of body weight), abnormal fatigue and loss of strength.
In the event of mild dehydration, the CPAM recommends laying the person down, undressing, cooling them, ventilating them and giving them to drink a drink containing enough sugar and salt such as sugar water or vegetable broth. In the event of severe dehydration, “you must contact the Samu as soon as possible.
