Preparation
- Bring the water to a boil with the bay leaves. Throw in the peas in rain, mix, then cook for 45 minutes.
- Skim after a few minutes to prevent the contents of the pan from overflowing.
- At the end of cooking, taste the peas: they should be perfectly tender and start to disintegrate a little in the water.
- If this is not the case, continue cooking by adding, if necessary, a little water …
- Remove the bay leaves, season with salt and pepper, pour in the oil, then mix thoroughly.
- Serve hot, as this soup will become a little floury when cooling.

advice : to reduce the cooking time, simply soak your split peas for 1 hour in softened water, preferably leaving them in the refrigerator to avoid any fermentation. Rinse them before pouring them rain into your cooking water.
