The TousAntiCovid application will be equipped with new functionalities in the coming days: the possibility of storing the results of its screening test and a vaccination certificate.
- Within a few days, the TousAntiCovid application will make it possible to present the results (positive or negative) of a PCR test and, ultimately, a vaccination certificate.
- The app will become a tool for the “health pass” desired by Emmanuel Macron, and currently being discussed at European level. This pass should however remain declarative and on a voluntary basis.
Already downloaded by 14.7 million French people, the TousAntiCovid application has so far made it possible to present a derogatory travel certificate, to know the latest Covid-19 contamination figures and to detect their risk of exposure to Covid-19. 19. In the coming days, TousAntiCovid will acquire new functionalities: that of being able to store the result of a PCR test in digital format and, ultimately, to provide a certified certificate of vaccination.
Called “TousAntiCovid-Carnet”, this new feature is presented this Monday, April 19 before being deployed in the coming days. “France is now committing to experimenting with the TousAntiCovid-Carnet functionality during flights to Corsica and the Overseas Territories”says the government.
A voluntary European health pass
These new features are one more step towards the famous “sanitary pass” desired by Emmanuel Macron and which should allow the gradual lifting of travel restrictions and access to certain places and events.
Also discussed within the European Union, the health pass should be put in place by the end of June in the 27 member countries in order to facilitate the movement of those who have been vaccinated. Otherwise, Europeans will have to be able to present the results of a rapid PCR or antigen test, or prove that they are immune after a previous infection with Covid-19.
On Wednesday April 14, the ambassadors of the 27 Member States set the duration of application of a regulation on the health certificate prepared by the European Commission at one year. It is now being negotiated with MEPs.
Questioned on Sunday on BFMTV, the European commissioner for the internal market Thierry Breton assured that the health pass “will not be declarative” and should, for example, be done on the result of a blood test which will ensure acquired immunity. This pass can concern all those who wish, including children, but will remain “voluntary”.
