Restrictions to cope with a significant rise in the number of Covid-19 cases
The prefecture and the Regional Health Agency (ARS) of Guadeloupe announced this Wednesday, April 14, 2021, the introduction of new restrictions to deal with an upsurge in the number of Covid-19 cases. Indeed, according to the latest data from the prefecture, the overseas territory encountered 506 new cases of Covid-19 between April 5 and 11, compared to 357 the previous week.
The number of new cases has thus increased by 41.7%, in the space of a week and the rate of reproduction of the virus, (which reflects the average number of people infected by an infected person), is now at 1. , 21 against 1.05 the previous week. Curfew at 7 p.m. and closing of cinemas, theaters and museums
The main novelty for Guadeloupeans is the advancement of the curfew to 7 p.m. (initially scheduled from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.). The prefect does not rule out possible confinement
