Deconfinement is on everyone’s lips. Pending the speech of the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron in the middle of next week, the executive has already admitted that it would be progressive. What will be the new rules to avoid a third wave? What will we have the right to do or not to do? Will non-essential businesses reopen? Will we be able to move beyond a kilometer? Elements of answers.
Do not reproduce the errors of the first deconfinement
Do not expect deconfinement identical to that of the month of May. This is what Jean Castex suggested when he spoke about the management of the Covid-19 health crisis before the commission of inquiry of the National Assembly on Tuesday, November 17. The Prime Minister has also admitted his errors in relation to the deconfinement of spring, considered too fast by many and having led to a resurgence of the epidemic. “Maybe we deconfined a little too quickly. Maybe also the French people believed that the epidemic was behind us”, he admitted.
A more “progressive” deconfinement
This time around, many restrictive measures are expected to last for a long time to come. Starting with the travel certificate which must be presented during each of our outings at least until December 20. Likewise, places open to the public must respect a very strict sanitary protocol. “because the situation will have improved but not enough”, said Jean Castex. If you had a dream of going back to the gym, it seems that this is not the order of the day. Only minors will be able to go there from December 1st. As for places of worship, they too should reopen their doors on this date, again with health restrictions. We all dream of celebrating Christmas with the family. But the end-of-year celebrations represent real risk factors for the spread of the epidemic. On this subject, the Prime Minister wanted to be rather reassuring on November 12th. “We can of course find his family, but it would not be reasonable to hope to be able to organize this party for several dozen people, especially for New Years Eve on December 31.” And as a third wave cannot be ruled out, the Scientific Council advocates the “stop and go” strategy which consists of alternating periods of confinement and deconfinement. Can we avoid a third confinement in spring 2021?
