In the latter, he returns to the challenge he has set himself: to help 1,000 people with cataracts to receive free treatment. As a reminder, this eye disorder is characterized by clouding of the lens of the eye, which is mainly associated with aging. When the cataract progresses and is not treated surgically, it leads to a progressive and irreversible loss of vision.

This is why the American Youtubeur, followed by 131 million subscribers, has decided to look for adults affected by this disease, to pay their medical expenses, which are expensive, and allow them to regain their sight. “Half of the blindness cases in the world are people who need a ten-minute operation,” he says in the video. It was viewed more than 60 million times in a few days and raised more than $350,000. This sum helped finance the surgery of 40 adults on the first day. The costs of other operations carried out in Brazil, Jamaica, Indonesia, Kenya and even Honduras will also be paid. “I wanted to give this gift to as many people as possible,” said the videographer.
Cataract: surgery is considered in 3 situations
The operation, performed under local anesthesia, aims to extract the clouded lens and replace it with an equivalent artificial lens. If both eyes are affected, one eye is operated on first, then the second a few weeks later.
