The EFS appeals to the generosity of the French while donations are scarce during the end of the year celebrations.
An original and useful gift for these end of year celebrations? Your blood. The French Blood Establishment (EFS) appeals for generosity, while donors are traditionally scarce during the New Year’s Eve periods.
Anticipate difficulties
“If the EFS blood product reserves are satisfactory today, we must anticipate the difficulties that we encounter each year in January, write the authors of a communicated. Indeed, while the collections are less frequented at the end of the year, hospital activity resumes strongly in January and many patients will need a transfusion of red blood cells, platelets or plasma ”.
Every day of the year, from January 1 to December 31, 10,000 donations are needed, says the EFS, which recalls the list of collection points in France. In Paris, where donors flocked the day after the attacks, one of the last mobile blood drives of the year takes place at Place de la Bataille-de-Stalingrad (Xe) on Monday and Tuesday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
EFS needs blood, mobile site in Stalingrad! If you have nothing to do today, go ahead or come with me instead! ????
