National aid for the acquisition of a new or recent vehicle considered “clean” applies as much to a LOA or LLD contract as to a conventional purchase, and according to the same scale, whether it is the ecological bonus or the conversion bonus.
The terms of eligibility and allocation of the ecological bonus and the conversion bonus are generally presented on the basis of the total price of the vehicle. But these national aids, which make it possible to reduce the cost of acquiring certain new or used cars according to their classification of their CO emissions2 and / or their energy source, apply both for cars in LOA (rental with option to purchase) or LLD (long-term rental) than during a traditional purchase.

The same bonus for single purchase, LOA or LLD
In LOA or LLD, it is always on the basis of the catalog price of the vehicle that an ecological bonus is awarded, following the same scale as for a conventional purchase with regard to CO emissions2. The vehicle must emit less than 20 g CO2/ km to be eligible. To benefit from this method of financing, the subscriber must commit to a rental contract of at least two years. If he separates from the car before this deadline, he must repay the aid received within three months of the modification or termination of the contract. The premium can be advanced by the professional seller or requested by the buyer; the latter must then do so within six months of the payment of the first rent. The conversion bonus also in LOA or LLD
To benefit from the conversion bonus, again the conditions are the same in LOA or LLD as for a traditional purchase. In exchange for the scrapping of a pre-2011 diesel or pre-2006 gasoline car, the aid can go up to € 3,000 for a thermal vehicle or € 5,000 for an electric or plug-in hybrid car, new or used, depending on:
- the characteristics of the vehicle acquired,
- of its price
- the reference tax income of the person signing the contract.
For residents of EPZs, an additional premium equal to that of the corresponding local authority, capped at € 1,000, is also allocated. Like the bonus, the conversion bonus can be advanced by the seller or requested from the government by the buyer.
Last chance to take advantage of the 2020-2021 scale
Both the ecological bonus and the conversion bonus will be revised downwards on 1er July 2022. Taking into account the delivery times which currently amount to several months, it is better to materialize your purchase as soon as possible to hope to benefit from the most advantageous aid if the necessary conditions are met.
