There were very high expectations for Battlefield 2042, but the game only experiences problems and misery.
Gamers were eagerly looking forward to the launch of this game last year. Expectations were high, but since the launch the game has been struggling with problems. The developer has had to pull out all the stops and make changes to the game. But to no avail, the players have lost confidence.
Battlefield 2042 misery
Many players indicate that they no longer like the game. They do this on various forums. And it’s true, from figures from SteamDB turns out that there are very few gamers left playing the game. These are, for example, players who play via the PC. At its peak, about 105,000 people were online simultaneously on that platform. Since then, the number has declined dramatically. At the moment, the number of players has fallen below a thousand. That’s dramatic for a game like this. All this is based on annoying bugs, which made the game not fun to play. Crashes and server problems have also been identified.
Certainly painful because Electronic Arts (EA) was pursuing a new success with this game. And why not? All ingredients were and are good. Other Battefield games are also played well. Think of Battlefield V, where there are still 11,000 players every day.
Future
So EA has to come up with a solution. Or say goodbye to this game in the future, because development costs a lot of money. Then it has to pay off and that doesn’t happen if people don’t play the game. Sure, they can still improve the game. But to brush away a bad name, you don’t just do that.
