Regarding the “beauty blenders” – these egg-shaped foam foundation sponges – the brands recommend daily cleaning with soap and water, and regular passage in the washing machine.
However, Julianna Asouzou, a 19-year-old law student from London, may have found another, faster and more efficient technique: the microwave. In a video posted on Twitter and already liked more than 100,000 times, the young woman places her beauty blender (dirty) in a glass filled with soapy water and slides it all in the microwave for 1 min.
The microwave, an effective weapon against many bacteria
Surprise: the accessory, initially covered with foundation, comes out like new! Inevitably, his beauty/health tip was immediately imitated… with more or less success. Internet users thus post photos of their beauty blender completely melted after being microwaved… For the technique to work, it is indeed necessary to completely immerse the accessory in soapy water.
A trick to adopt? Why not: according to a study conducted by researchers at the University of Saint-Martin (in the United States), microwaves are effective against many bacteria and certain viruses. We try ?
