Americans pay the equivalent of 26,000 euros
We have some good news, some more good news, and maybe some less news. Let’s start with the good news: the new Acura Integra just gets a manual transmission again. In addition, he gets VTEC again (yo!), but also a turbo. The latter is nice for the power, but probably just a shame for the rev range. The 1.5-litre VTEC may not go above 8,000 rpm. Quite possibly Acura (Honda’s luxury label in America) will save that for a Type R in the future – but the chance is not very great.
The exact engine specifications of the new Acura Integra are not yet known, only that there is a limited slip differential between the front wheels. Enthusiasts recognize other nods to the past, such as the recessed type designation in the bumper. The taillights should also be recognizable, but we also see something of the Hyundai Genesis Coupé in them. For now it is officially still a prototype, so we are curious if the yellow insides of the exhaust will make it to production.
The new Integra is a four-door
Although most people know the Integra from the fast Type R versions, the model was also sold with more sensible motorizations. And as a four-door. The new Acura Integra is also coming to dealers in America as a four-door. We suspect that there will be no two-door coupe. Basically the Acura Integra is only intended for the US market, so settle here in Europe but don’t put your hopes on the arrival of a Honda Integra. Also in Japan, Honda does not seem to come up with a new Integra. The new Integra should appear in the US next year. There the car costs converted 26,000 euros, which sounds quite reasonable.
