One in 4 French people would make an appointment with a doctor via an Internet platform, according to an Opinionway study carried out for the site Mondocteur.fr.

According to this survey, the majority (96%) of French people say they have a referral general practitioner, 71% a referral dentist, and 60% a referral gynecologist. During this study, the majority (90%) of respondents said they were satisfied with their doctor, general practitioner or specialist.
On the other hand, this survey reveals that making medical appointments is sometimes chaotic. As it is often complicated to find a consultation with a specialist, around 30% of respondents are forced to change their interlocutor. They said that for 84% of them “it is difficult to find a niche” (84%), for 78% that “there is a too long wait on the phone” and “or even the impossibility of reaching his cabinet ”for 74% of respondents.
The survey also highlighted that one in four French people has already missed a medical appointment due to lack of communication with their practice. For half (53%) of them, it is an appointment forgetting, a date or place error for 31%.
French people make doctor’s appointments online
The results of this study also showed that 26% of French people use an Internet health platform to obtain a consultation.
The profile of patients who make an online doctor’s appointment is one-third (32%) of young people aged 18 to 24, 28% of 50-64 years and 23% of seniors over 65.
This study also tells us that “4 to 5% of the 120,000 practitioners in the liberal sector have opted for this online reservation system available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, according to the National Council of the Order of Physicians”.
To improve and streamline the making of medical appointments, the majority of French people (70%) would like to be notified automatically as soon as a possibility becomes available, and 62% of those polled would like a tool to make it easier for them to make an appointment on the Internet. 24/7.
