Recommendations to parents
The Ministry of Health based itself on the recommendations of the High Council of Public Health to update the health record. The prevention messages have therefore been updated to adapt to the new precautions in force.
It is therefore not recommended to use a bottle that contains bisphenol A, this chemical is recognized as an endocrine disruptor. You should also avoid leaving a child under 3 in front of the television or in a room where it is on.
Also new recommendations are made regarding cribs, bed bumpers should not be used. In 2015, a study in The Journal of Pediatrics revealed the potential danger of these bed bumpers. Designed to protect the baby from shocks or getting a limb caught between bars, they are thought to be responsible for certain cases of suffocation in infants which can lead to death.
Parents can also find advice on how to respond well to crying to prevent shaken baby syndrome.
New growth curves
In this new booklet, we also find the new compulsory vaccines. Finally, new growth curves have been created. Before, there was no differentiation of sex before three years, today, each sex has its specific growth curve regardless of age. The changes in French children in terms of weight and height were taken into account.
The new health card will be distributed from April 1.
