In France, according to the World Health Organization, 6.5 million people currently suffer from obesity (or 14.5% of the adult population). And in the world, the number of obese people has doubled since 1980: today, 600 million people are affected.

Present in 32 European countries, EASO is involved in numerous actions aimed at drawing public attention to this disease, considered by the World Health Organization as “one of the greatest health challenges of the 21st century”.
