They are doctors, pulmonologists, tobacco specialists, addiction specialists and oncologists. All united by the same wish: to support the electronic cigarette to fight against dangers of smoking.
Their vapor argument for vaping is based on the conclusions of a Public Health England report, an agency under the British Department of Health. Published in August 2015, the text defended the use of electronic cigarettes because of their lower risk compared to tobacco.
British experts have found “vaping” to be a good alternative for smokers who want to quit. Above all, they ensure that the electronic cigarette is “95% less harmful than smoking”.
“Based on this observation and that of its virtual harmlessness for smokers and non-smokers, this report recommends the promotion of the e-cigarette to the general public and the medical profession to develop its use, specifies the appeal of doctors, taken up by AFP. This recommendation was launched on the occasion of the First meetings of vaping in France, organized in Paris. The appeal was initiated by Dr Philippe Presles, doctor and tobacco specialist, expert in of SOS-addictions.
The United Kingdom, a model?
Health professionals in solidarity with this call invite to be inspired by the United Kingdom to introduce the electronic cigarette a little more as a tool for reducing the risks associated with smoking.
“This strategy of risk reduction through e-cigarettes, combined with a policy of high tobacco prices, is succeeding in the United Kingdom, where the population of adult smokers is falling below 18%”, observe the 120 doctors.
