This Wednesday, day of conventional meeting at the head office of the Health Insurance (CNAM) (1), its director, Nicolas Revel, reserved for the unions of doctors with whom he is currently negotiating the next medical convention, a big surprise.
In a preparatory document sent to the five organizations representing liberal practitioners, he proposes to revalue the consultation of general practitioners from 23 to 25 euros. This was a long-standing demand of the 1st union in the MG France profession. However, instead of gaining membership, this proposal provoked the ire of other trade unionists.
The clash started with the SML (Union of Liberal Doctors) who decided to leave the negotiation meeting, in part because Nicolas Revel refused to tell him the amount of the envelope available to the CNAM to revalue all the rates for doctors.

The second trade union in the profession, the FMF (2), will wait for its Board of Directors to be held on June 5, before deciding whether or not to continue this negotiation. “It drags on and does not open up any prospects for upgrading liberal medicine. The authorities are not taking the measure of the liberal demographic disaster ”, deplores the organization.
It must be said that these unionists are asking for a basic consultation at 40 euros. Its president, Dr Jean-Paul Hamon, therefore qualifies the proposed sum of “coin”. Response from the CNAM, the measure will cost no less than € 569.2 million per year, 70% of which will be paid by Social Security!

Finally, the 1st union of liberal doctors, the CSMF, did not welcome the announcement better. “We make fun of doctors,” said Dr Jean-Paul Ortiz, president of the union yesterday.
