According to a friend of mine, four walnuts contain as many calories and fat as a normal meal all day. Is this true?
R.Hallie-Koster
One walnut provides about 50 calories and almost 5 grams of fat. Just as much as you spread on your bread with margarine, for example.
According to the Nutrition Center, an average adult woman needs about 2,000 calories a day. A third of this may be supplied by dietary fat. That equates to about 700 to 800 calories. That’s about 85 grams of fat.
So your girlfriend is unfortunately wrong.
