Pimples, red bumps and dry skin?
To prevent the spread of the coronavirus, wearing a mouth cap is mandatory in some places. Such as in the plane, taxi or public transport. But also in many contact professions it may be necessary to put on a mouth cap for a long time. Wearing a mask for a long time can cause irritation to the skin. How can you prevent this as much as possible? We have some tips for you.
Your own breath makes it warm and moist under the mask. This can chafe and irritate your skin. This is especially the case for people with sensitive skin.
Hygiene
It is important that you replace or wash your mouth cap often enough. Disposable masks can only be used once and must be thrown away immediately after wearing. You should wash a cloth face mask after every wear. So purchase several, so that you always have a clean one at home.
Take care of clean skin
Of course you should always clean your skin well, but especially if you are going to wear a face mask. Also, do not wear make-up under your mask. If you do apply this, it can cause your pores to clog faster. This in turn can cause skin irritation such as pimples or red bumps. Wash and clean your skin again after wearing a mouth cap.
Dry skin
Do you suffer from dry skin? Then you will probably already regularly rub your skin with a nourishing cream. Repeat this after cleaning your face if you have worn a face mask. In this case, it is also better to use a washable cotton mask than a disposable mask. Cotton masks are softer and less constricting.
Finally: keep your hands on your face as little as possible and always wash your hands or clean them with disinfecting gel before putting on and taking off the mouth cap.
