A fulfilling sex life improves professional performance, depending on the results of a study published in the medical journal Journal of Management. It would be effective in making daily household chores more enjoyable to do.
Researchers from the universities of Oregon and Washington (United States) conducted a study with 159 married couples to assess the impact of their sexuality on their professional life. The study was conducted for 2 weeks to analyze the moods of the participants. They filled out questionnaires twice a day about their job satisfaction and the number of times they had sex.
Having sex increases professional performance
Scientists found that employees engaged in fulfilling sex at home reported enhanced positive effects at work the next day, regardless of the effects of marital satisfaction. Indeed, sex life increased both day-to-day job satisfaction and better engagement with day-to-day tasks around the house.
“When a professional career takes up too much space in an employee’s private life and he is forced to sacrifice his sex life, his commitment to work may decline,” concludes Professor Leavitt, author of the study, quoted by Why Doctor.
However, “we are showing that sex has social, emotional and physiological benefits, and that it is important to make it a priority”.
