After sending a whatsapp message, blue ticks appear if the other person has read your message. This also applies the other way around: your conversation partner can see from the read receipts that you have read his message. You can also uncheck those blue check marks. That is how it works.
*Click on the gear at the bottom right of the video and choose the highest possible quality to view the video as sharp as possible.
Turn off read receipts on an iPhone
- Open WhatsApp.
- Go to Settings.
- Press Account.
- Press Privacy.
- Turn off the switch next to Read receipts.
Turn off read receipts for Android
- Open WhatsApp.
- Tap the 3 dots icon at the top right.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Account.
- Tap Privacy.
- At the very bottom, behind ‘Read receipts’, tap the checkbox.
