It is enough to eat a single food for a limited period: one day, three days, sometimes a week. Difficult to exceed this time frame given the restrictive nature of the program.
Often we recommend a fruit: grape, apple or other at will. There are also mono diets based on brown rice for example. This cure would make it possible to find the form, to get rid of the toxins which encumber us, even to lose a few kilos. So, what should we think of this kind of program?

On the other hand, if you try the adventure over several days a week, it can become dangerous. You deprive the body of fundamental nutrients such as proteins, or fatty acids. headaches or malaise, tip Véronique Liesse, nutritionist. Another disadvantage, by eating only carbohydrates, derived from fruit sugar, they will not mix with other nutrients as part of a daily diet. This massive intake of sugar risks causing hyperglycaemia followed by hypoglycaemia with, again, a risk of discomfort.
We don’t lose fat, we lose water
The mono diet is also presented as a way to cleanse the body of its clogging by toxins from a diet too rich, which would lead to weight loss. However, this is unfortunately not the case in practice. “You have to be careful not to believe too much in this aspect. A prolonged mono diet causes muscle wasting Above all. And on the weight side, you can certainly lose two kilos. But it won’t be pounds of fat. Just water. And we will resume them as soon as the cure is over”, deplores Véronique Liesse.
The body has a memory, it will store more

Proponents of mono diets claim that the foods eaten are packed with vitamins and minerals. Certainly it is absolutely true. Except that they are totally insufficient to cover all of our needs. One can therefore become subject to great fatigue, hair loss, sometimes dizziness, etc. As for the cleaning effects, you should know that the body has all the capabilities for self-cleansing. Organs such as the liver, for example, play their filtering role perfectly. The kidneys or lungs also evacuate waste. This self-cleaning power therefore does not require a single food intake over a period of time. The body does it on its own.
“If you want to try the adventure, you limit yourself to just one day, so as not to risk any damage and to put your digestive system to rest. But nothing essential or miraculous in this kind of program”, concludes the expert.
