The politician also felt that these objects, which were very popular with young people, were a “ecological nonsense” and “smoking should remain a major public health issue”.
“I plan to extend the prescription of nicotine substitutes to pharmacists”, declared in this sense François Braun.
The year 2020 was marked by a rebound in the prevalence of smoking. Nearly a third of 18-75 year olds (31.8%) declared that they smoked to Public Health France, and a quarter admitted to consuming cigarettes daily (25.5%).
7,000 chemicals
Tobacco smoke contains 7,000 chemical substances, including 70 carcinogens (benzene, arsenic, chromium, tar, etc.).
