A Delaware court rules Twitter’s lawsuit against Elon Musk will begin in October this year.
That decision is in favor of Twitter. That company wanted the case to go to court quickly, while Elon Musk wanted to postpone it to February 2023. That is certainly not going to happen now.
Musk made an offer of 41 billion euros on Twitter in April, which the company agreed to. Shortly afterwards, the infamous tech entrepreneur suddenly became hesitant about the deal.
Hassle over Twitter bots
The reason: Musk thinks the Twitter platform has too many bots. These are often fake or spam accounts; no real users. This would make the platform worth less.
During the hearing, which took place yesterday, Twitter claimed that these were bad arguments from Musk. The entrepreneur probably regretted the deal afterwards, for whatever reason.
Initially, Twitter wanted the lawsuit to be adjourned in September, Musk in February. It is now October, but an exact start date is not yet known.
We will therefore be informed of the verdict in this case after the summer. Then we also know whether Elon Musk actually – perhaps against his will – will become the new owner of Twitter.
