By effect of comparison, and by identification, Internet users develop stress and anxiety about their weight.
The researchers conducted a study with 232 people connected to social networks of fitness and sports activities such as hikingthe walkingthe gymnastic or workouts in the gym to analyze the effects on personality and complexes of adhering to this type of media.
The first effect observed by scientists was a very strong identification with two kinds of effects, one positive, the other negative.
Indeed, some people use the personalities of the networks as a driving force and by the desire to resemble them manage to become more active.
On the other hand, the researchers also observed that the more the number of likes, the more the obsession with the weight was marked and the risk of a strong complex.
“This phenomenon potentially leads to a poor self-image and would worsen especially in people who are already complexed by their weight”, conclude the researchers.
