According to a survey conducted for the Huffpost, the progressive deconfinement worries 59% of French people and 76% of them would prefer to postpone the resumption of school until the start of the school year in September.

While presenting the government’s deconfinement plan to the National Assembly on Tuesday, the Prime Minister confirmed the executive’s intention to send students back to school from May 11. A gradual recovery which would begin with that of nursery and elementary schools, then by colleges and finally, from June 2, if the indicators are favorable, by the reopening of high schools.
59% of French people worried
But what do parents think? According to a survey YouGov conducted a few hours before Edouard Philippe’s announcements for the Huffpost76% of French people (73% of men and 79% of women) believe that the return to school should take place in September, as recommended by the scientific council.

In detail, women are more worried (67%) than men (50%), the latter being all the same 43% to see relief, against 23% of women. 40% of Ile-de-France residents feel relieved.
Wearing a mask in public spaces
The French are also 51% to be in favor of the fact that the restaurants remain closed until the end of May, 34% are rather favorable and 17% are very favorable. In addition, 68% seem to measure the danger to which they will be exposed since they think of wearing a mask systematically in public spaces, 62% in public transport and 44% in their workplace.
Remember that the “general public” masks announced by Emmanuel Macron can now be ordered by pharmacies, as authorized by a stopped published in the Official newspaper. These fabric masks, washable and reusable, will therefore be sold over the counter without a prescription in pharmacies and supermarkets, confirmed the Prime Minister. According to him, there will gradually be enough stocks so that the French will not run out of them from May 11.
