He drank six energy drinks a day… and bitterly regrets it. A professor has published a disturbing photo to warn of the effects that these industrial drinks can have on the body.
This photo should disgust some… and caused a stir on the internet. Dan Royals, a teacher living in Asia, posted a photo of his biting tongue on Facebook. He explains in the post below his habit of consuming at least five or six cans of energy drinks per day. But one day he realized that his tongue was break down. He then went to see his doctor, who forbade him to drink any more energy drinks, who he believed were responsible for the state of his language.
“Maybe you should think twice”
“Who drinks energy drinks?” he asked on Facebook above the photo. “Are you addicted to it? Maybe you should think twice about it. Here’s what it does to your tongue. Imagine that on your internal organs !” he added. Being also a smoker, he indicates that according to his doctor, the decomposition of his tongue is only due to his excessive consumption of energy drinks – and especially of the chemicals inside. he finds another way to fight fatigue…
The unknown effects of these sodas
Several dentists had already sounded the alarm: in addition to chemicals, these drinks have a high sugar and acid content. If their composition makes them “exciting” drinks that generate a peak of energy, this is not without effects on our body. In reality, the effects of excessive consumption of sodas of this type on health are still unknown to the general public.
Due to the significant presence of sugar (a can contains up to 60g of sugar, i.e. 13 teaspoons) and caffeine, regular consumers risk diabetes, palpitations, hypertension, addiction… There is also psycho-behavioral effects: irritability, nervousness, anxiety, panic attacks… Last year, a Canadian study showed that more than half of adolescents who consumed energy drinks had experienced heart palpitations, nausea, and, much more rarely, convulsions.
