A 34-year-old nurse was assaulted overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday by a patient with psychiatric problems.
On Wednesday May 24, around 2:45 a.m., a patient presented himself at the Nantes Hospital Center to receive psychiatric care. The 26-year-old then found himself facing a 34-year-old nurse from the psychiatric ward.
Unable to give him medication, she explained to him that he had to consult a doctor to obtain them. The refusal somewhat annoyed the patient, who violently attacked his interlocutor, punching her violently. The ensuing fall of the nurse did not stop the man, who continued with a kick to the head.
Alerted by the noise of the altercation, people present at the reception came to the aid of the woman, and scared away her attacker, who was quickly caught by CHU security officers.
The man was then handed over to the police, placed in police custody and brought before the Nantes tribunal de grande instance. The nurse, for her part, was granted five days off work, following her injuries.
This is not the first attempt of this visibly badly treated patient, who was the subject of two search sheets, and who had already been placed in police custody this week for damage to a police station.
