“At the rate things are going, by 2025, one in two children will have autism in the United States.” By speaking thus during the presentation of a study on the growing use of Round Up (a weedkiller whose active ingredient is glyphosate) and the rising rate of autism, Stephanie Seneff of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) made more than a hair stand on the head of her audience .
Dr. Seneff has written numerous articles in various medical and health journals on modern diseases as well as on the side effects of drugs, nutritional deficiencies or the impact of environmental toxins on our health. For her latest study, she draws a parallel between the use of glyphosate on crops and the development of autism. Indeed, children diagnosed with autism have biomarkers indicating excessive glyphosate buildup as well as mineral deficiencies due to the toxicological effects of weed killer.
Autism: 1 in 68 children in the United States
The use of glyphosate in the United States began in 1990 and has continued to increase ever since. Meanwhile, the number of children diagnosed with autism has risen from 1 in 5,000 in 1975 to 1 in 68 today. Confusing statistics that show no sign of slowing down and that the doctor considers closely correlated with the increase in the use of glyphosate whose toxic effects extend to all products sweetened with corn syrup (candies, sodas.. .) and all industrial wheat flour products.
Glyphosate already responsible for gluten intolerance
This is not the first time that Round-Up, developed by Monsanto, has found itself at the heart of a controversy over its toxic effects. A few months ago, a study, co-directed by Dr Seneff, showed that the main ingredient of the weedkiller Roundup, would be responsible for the explosion of cases of gluten intolerance and celiac disease. But you should know that in the United States, the population has levels of glyphosate in the urine 10 times higher than European rates. In France, a study by Friends of the Earth showed that this weedkiller was present in the body of 3 out of 10 people.
