The Dacia Sandero remains the most popular model for private customers in France. With 69,395 sales made in 2021, the 3rd generation Romanian city car sold almost twice as much as its first chaser: the Peugeot 208. The Tesla Model 3 joined the rankings in 8th place.
The years go by and they all look the same ! For the 5e consecutive time, the Dacia Sandero leads the ranking of new cars best sold to private customers in France according to the data NGC-Data® for 2021.

The Sandero far ahead of the 208
Last year, the Romanian city dweller even struck a blow. It has totaled 69,395 sales, or 30,000 more than its first pursuer: the Peugeot 208. In 2020, the difference was limited to around 2,000 units. The reasons of this success ? The launch in early 2021 of a third generation with modernized style and equipment, while keeping prices contained. The Peugeot 2008 is once again on the 3e step of the podium with 29,345 copies sold. Dacia is definitely the n ° 1 brand in the hearts of the French with 105,626 sales ahead of Renault (102,539) and Peugeot (96,861). Let us also underline the excellent performance of the Duster – restyled in September 2021 – which goes from the 10e at the 5e place in the ranking with 25,984 units sold (+ 5%).
The Tesla Model 3 enters the top 10
As in 2020, the Captur remains the most popular Renault model among French private customers with 23,666 units sold. In the notable events of the year 2021, note the arrival with fanfare of the Tesla Model 3 to 8e ranking rank.
With 18,700 units sold (+ 400 % approximately), it is now the best-selling electric in France, ahead of the Renault Zoé which tumbles from the 7e at the 11e ranking position (15,218 copies). The high price of the American (from 43,800 € excluding bonus), has not slowed down the enthusiasm of buyers who praise its autonomy and its network of Superchargers. At Citroën, the first model in the ranking points to 9e position. This is the C3 with 18,458 units sold. In 2020, she ranked 5e best selling on the French market.
