First launched as a special “45 years” series to celebrate the label’s anniversary, the Golf GTI Clubsport is a permanent part of Volkswagen’s French catalog. It is displayed at € 47,200, or € 3,775 more than the traditional GTI.
At the start of 2021, Volkswagen formalized the arrival of the GTI Clubsport label on the Golf 8 with a unique “45 years” special series. This one, which used to be the 50,000 € excluding penalty, recently left the French catalog. To replace it, the brand is therefore introducing a more classic GTI Clubsport version.
The Clubsport back to the catalog

The “new” Golf GTI Clubsport abandons the specific decoration of the special anniversary series: stickers and logos, black rims, etc. However, it retains the technical elements specific to this sporty version. The chassis lowered by 10 mm, the wider door sills, the double spoiler at the rear or the controlled DCC damping are still in the game. The Golf GTI Clubsport also has as standard a driving mode dedicated to the German Nürburgring circuit, a 10-inch touch screen or even LED matrix lights. The 2.0 TSI of 300 ch associated with a DSG7 gearbox is still placed under the hood of this Golf, making it one of the most powerful of the GTI label.
Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport Price

Price side, the Golf GTI Clubsport is exchanged for € 47,200 in France, or € 3,775 more than the classic 245 hp GTI. The Clubsport variant is thus placed just below the Golf R, more powerful with its 320 hp drawn from the same engine and its all-wheel drive, but also more expensive with a price of € 51,135 excluding penalty. On the other hand, the Spanish cousin Cupra Leon VZ, traction equipped with the same 2.0 TSI of 300 hp, is much more attractive with a price set at € 41,320, or € 5,880 less.
