Wearing a mask, properly worn, is compulsory. Can there be verbalizations in the event of poor positioning or of a scarf replacing the mask?
The mask, mandatory, must be properly adjusted
Wearing a mask has been compulsory in enclosed areas since July 20. Recently mandatory in all outdoor public spaces in large cities such as Paris, Lyon, Bordeaux or Lille, the mask must be worn correctly. That is to say ” cover their nose, mouth and chin »While washing his hands well before, specifies the Minister of Health Olivier Veran. The World Health Organization makes it clear that a badly worn mask offers no protection against the coronavirus.
Possible sanctions in the event of incorrectly worn masks
As a reminder, not wearing a mask results in a fine of € 135. The mask is sometimes badly positioned or even replaced by a scarf, a practice due to a voluntary approach or to forgetting the mask which raises the question of a possible sanction. A badly positioned mask that does not protect against the virus is therefore liable to a fine. The Minister of the Interior, Jean Castex, ordered the police officers to verbalize all people who do not respect the wearing of a mask, as provided for in article L3136-1 of the public health code. No sanction has yet been reported. Another clarification: you cannot wear just any mask. It must meet the characteristics of permeability, breathability, or filtering of at least 70% of particles of 3 micrometers. It is therefore possible to be sanctioned when one wears a scarf instead of the mask, although no penalty has yet been raised.
