Give birth in hospital or at home? By cesarean section or naturally? Today, women would like to be able to give birth as they wish, in harmony with themselves. If in some European countries, 30% of deliveries are entirely physiological (no medical act), this is far from being the case in France. Blame it on the lack of suitable places … Thus, to denounce the lack of flexibility of French legislation with regard to childbirth, a demonstration is planned this Saturday 1er September in major French cities. The movement invites all people sharing the ideas below to join them, during this great gathering:
- For the opening of a birthing center.
- For the right to give birth at home, and the right to have post-natal follow-up as for the early exit of maternity.
- For the material development of hospitals (childbirth in water for example)
- For the upgrading of midwives and their work, as much in the follow-up of pregnancy, as in childbirth, and the first aid of the child and his mother.
- So that the medical staff supervising the childbirth act in accordance with the birth plans established by the future parents, in agreement with their gynecologist / midwife who followed the pregnancy.
- For systematic breastfeeding training for medical staff in maternity hospitals.
- For the revision of the protocols imposed in maternity hospitals in order to better respect the wishes of parents on the choice of interventions relating to childbirth.
- For consistency between the results of international and advanced studies in physiology-psychology-endocrinology with daily practices.
- So that social security properly reimburses AAD (which cost on average three times less than three days in hospital).
