BMW is not spared by the global inflationary context. The Series 1 thus sees its prices increase by €450 to €1,850 on the basic finish of the 116i. Some modifications of equipment are also indicated while the 120d two-wheel drive version disappears from the catalog.
The weeks follow each other and look alike for car manufacturers. With the semiconductor crisis and the Ukrainian conflict, car prices are skyrocketing. BMW is therefore revising its price lists upwards for several models (Series 2, Series 4, X3, X5, etc.) from 1er April 2022. The Series 1 is one of the most impacted models.

An entry-level from €28,350
If the finishes and engines all increase by €450, the 116i and 116d engines are more affected than the others, especially on the basic “Series 1” version. Count:
- €1,850 more on the 116i “Series 1” (BVM or BVA)
- €1,600 more on the 116d “Series 1” (BVM or BVA)
The 116i and 116d are therefore respectively displayed at 28,350 € and 30 650 €. Good news though: Apple CarPlay and Android Auto apps have been added as standard with wireless operation. The 109 hp 116i version also sees its price increase by €900 with the Edition Sport, M Design, M Sport and Business Design.
Note that the performance M135i xDrive of 306 hp sees its price increase by €1,000. It can now have the historic “50 years of BMW Motorsport” logos added to the bonnet, boot and wheel centers for €210.

A 4×4 diesel version only
In February 2022, BMW withdrew its two-wheel drive 120d Series from the catalogue. The 190 hp engine is now only available with xDrive all-wheel drive, from €41,450. Finally, the Harman Kardon Hi-Fi system with 16 speakers is again offered on the Series 1 against €860 or €500 on M135i xDrive.
