Off or on. But don’t just put your PS5 into rest mode. It is not without risk.
There is no telling how likely it is that you will experience problems with the rest mode on the PlayStation 5. With the launch of the new console, there were indeed sounds that the feature was not without issues. Post now Slashgear that the problems apparently still play a role.
The rest mode on the PlayStation 5 has many advantages. First, the console boots up in no time to continue your game. Handy if you want to take a short break of about 20 minutes. In addition, a controller can be charged if it is connected to the console via USB. Games updates are also downloaded in rest mode on the PS5.
Sounds all right. Unfortunately, the feature is not without bugs. The bugs are so annoying that it is not recommended to use rest mode on the PS5. A number of problems that can occur are listed below.
- PS5 can turn off in rest mode. Start-up is only possible via the on/off button, not via the controller
- PlayStation 5 may crash after booting from rest mode. With possible damage to save game as a result.
- PS5 brick, console won’t boot anymore
Not putting the PS5 in rest mode therefore seems to be the best solution for the time being. Please note, if you do not use the console for a while, it will automatically switch to rest mode. You can manually disable this in the settings.
