Some men are persuaded to excite the recipient in this way.
The phenomenon of “Dick pic”, ie photos of penises, which are often sent to non-consenting recipients, is prohibited by law in France. However, behind this type of sexual violence often hide very surprising motivations.
A profile of a sexist and narcissistic man
Taking an interest in the personality of the men sending photos of their penis allows us to better understand their motivations. In any case, this was demonstrated by a study of 1087 men, half of whom had already sent unsolicited “Dick pics”.
A more sexist and narcissistic profile has been highlighted with the belief of receiving the same type of image in return and above all that the recipient will thus want to have a sexual relationship. One in five consider it a normal way to flirt and seek a favorable response from the person you are talking to.
What to do if we receive a photo of a penis?
This practice is illegal in France and receiving a Dick pic is part of sexual violence. This gesture can therefore in this respect run the risk of sanctions for its author. As a victim, it is advisable not to delete the image, but to keep it and go to the police station.
Depending on the context, this type of behavior can be qualified either as the dissemination of a pornographic message, exhibitionism, cyberbullying, the dissemination of messages contrary to decency, or even the corruption of a minor, if the victim is under 18. years.
