Five cars from the collection of British Wheeler Dealers presenter Mike Brewer will be auctioned on November 13, 2021. Among them are a restored Citroën SM and a Mini that belonged to John Cooper.
If you happen to watch the show Wheeler Dealers in its UK version, then you are probably familiar with Mike Brewer’s name and face. The television host specializing in automobile restoration is preparing to lighten his personal collection of five cars. These will be put on sale next Saturday 13 November as part of the NEC Classic Motor Show, near Birmingham, England.
A Citroën SM saved from scrapping
During this sale, Mike Brewer, will offer in particular his Citroën SM, a 1972 coupé with a manual gearbox and left-hand drive. When its current owner acquired it, the car was in very poor condition. It was the subject of a complete restoration and reappeared in its original green tint for the 2018 NEC Classic Motor Show. This French-powered Maserati will soon appear in an episode of The Grand Tour, it is estimated between 35,000 and 45,000 £ (40,000 € to 53,000 € approximately).
A personal Mini from John Cooper
Brewer will also part with two “classic” Mini, a 1961 Austin and a 1967 Cooper 1275 S, both previously owned by American collector Phil Reed, now deceased. The first, initially blue with gray upholstery, was completely decked out in red in the 1970s. In excellent condition, it has barely over 22,000 miles (35,406 km) on the clock and could claim the equivalent of 20,000. €. The 1275 S is even more special since it was regularly driven by John Cooper himself. Its configuration could not be more “British”: green bodywork, cream convertible roof, cream and chrome rims, green and gray upholstery. Displaying some 56,065 miles (90,228 km), this Mini unlike any other is estimated at between £ 50,000 and £ 60,000 (around € 58,000 to 70,000).

A sale full of remarkable cars
Mike Brewer will also be offering his 1966 Ford Cortina Lotus for sale. A historic model for both Ford and Lotus, the coupe received a full restoration some 20 years ago. His odometer, which read approximately 70,000 miles (113,000 km), was then reset and now reads 5,924 (9,533 km). The car starts immediately according to its owner, and its value is estimated between 45,000 and 55,000 £ (53,000 to 64,000 € approximately). Finally, the sale will be an opportunity to get their hands on a more recent sports car: a Ferrari 360 Spider with an F1 robot box. Factory output in 2002, sporting a blue “Tour de France” bodywork and beige and blue upholstery, it has a documented history and displays 36,058 miles (58,030 km) on the odometer. The car is estimated between £ 55,000 and £ 65,000 (around € 64,000 to 76,000).
Other stars of this sale will include the one-time creation of fellow TV presenter Ant Anstead: a coupe named Dowsett Comet. We can also mention an F1 Williams-Renault FW14 showroom, an extremely rare Subaru Impreza 22B-STI, two Ford Sierra RS Cosworths, two Ferrari 330s or even a Renault 5 Turbo 2 that belonged to former F1 driver Derek Warwick.
