Twitter is shaking things up at the top

Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal changes course at Twitter and fires two high-ranking employees. It’s time for a different course.

At least that’s the message Kayvon Beykpour and Bruce Falck heard from Agrawal. Beykpour was responsible for consumer products, while Falck was the general manager for sales and products.

Both CEOs announced on Twitter that they have been fired from Twitter. Agrawal responded to their tweets by thanking them for their tireless efforts and the impact they leave on everyone and the product.

One man for two positions

It is not that the two positions are now filled by two different people. Twitter announces that Jay Sullivan is now taking on both roles. Sullivan will now be responsible for product and sales, although the latter position is now on an interim basis.

This decision is striking, because Twitter is in the middle of a takeover by Elon Musk. The tech entrepreneur is not officially the owner of the company yet, but it was previously announced that he wanted to cut the workforce. However, this could be a coincidence.

Beykpour had been working at Twitter since 2015, when the company acquired the video service Periscope. Falck had been working at the social medium for five years.
