Hold on, play PS1 games on an Xbox Series X and S? How is that possible? We explain it to you.
The Xbox Series X and S have been on the market for less than a year. Nevertheless, it has already been successful to run an emulator on the consoles. This is DuckStation, where it is possible to play PS1 games on the Xbox Series X and S.
This is more than a simple emulator. DuckStation actually brings you a better playing experience of classic Playstation 1 games on the Xbox Series X and S. That’s because the games have been polished by a factor of 16. That means gaming at a much higher resolution. It won’t be as pretty as your romantic thoughts about the games of yesteryear, of course, but it’s significantly better than a standard emulator.
DuckStation says they got the emulator working properly thanks to DirectX12 on the Xbox Series X and S. Furthermore, they say the PS1 emulator is aimed at providing speed, accuracy and well-functioning games in the long run. Sounds good!
Okay, but what are those words worth without proof? DuckStation understands that and has made a demonstration video. Check out the video below on PS1 games on an Xbox Series S/X in action.
