Bacteria responsible for lung infections
If you prefer baths, you are probably right. A study carried out by Western researchers has indeed revealed that the shower head is potentially our worst enemy.
Being by nature inaccessible, except to disassemble it, it houses within it, far from detergents and other cleaning products used in the bathroom, a whole bunch of bacteria! Bacteria that take advantage of humidity and heat to develop, before diffusing into the air of the bathroom or the shower stall when you want to use it!
However, some of these bacteria are responsible for skin diseases or pulmonary infections. This is what the researchers found by taking samples and analyzes on more than 650 shower heads in Western bathrooms.
Gloves and shower flowers must be machine washed often
In addition, there are bacteria and microbes that take up residence on the gloves lying around, always wet, in the shower or on the edge of the bathtub. Shower flowers do not look better, especially since they never go through the washing machine, unlike washcloths which never go there often enough.
The researchers therefore recommend cleaning the inside of the shower head, ideally by taking it apart and injecting detergent into it. Likewise, shower gloves and flowers should be regularly replaced and washed.
