This is what you will pay next year to watch F1
We are starting to get fairly complete when it comes to information about F1 in 2022. The price of the new streaming service Viaplay for the Netherlands is known. This subscription includes F1, as well as Bundesliga, Premier League and PDC Darts. Also movies like Tomb Raider, Bad Boys for Life and all parts of Men in Black – just to name a few. You can take out a separate subscription with Viaplay or you can purchase it from Ziggo or KPN.
The price of F1 at Viaplay
The subscription to Viaplay costs you 13.99 euros per month. That makes it slightly more expensive than Netflix, but you can’t watch F1 there. It is not entirely clear whether there are price differences between a direct subscription or when you take it out via Ziggo or KPN. The new streaming service will launch in the Netherlands in March of 2022. As you know, Nelson Valkenburg and Melroy Heemskerk do the commentary during the race. Amber Brantsen presents the show around it.
Alternatives to Viaplay in 2022
If you think the price of F1 at Viaplay is a bit too high, there is an alternative. For 64.99 euros per year (which comes down to more than 5 euros per month) you can take out an F1 TV Pro subscription. This is the official streaming service of F1. Here you can view all F1, F2, F3 and Porsche Supercup races, as well as all GP practices and qualifying sessions. And while the app was extremely broke in the past, F1 TV works quite decently these days.
Is the price of F1 at Viaplay too high?
We hear here and there that the subscription of 13.99 euros is on the high side. It is useful to know that Ziggo Sport Totaal currently also costs 14.95 euros. You can now also turn on Ziggo Sport Totaal at KPN, for example. There it costs 14.99 euros per month. It does add up on an annual basis, but for existing customers it can be slightly cheaper.
